If you’ve ever found yourself making the loop around Magic Kingdom and walking through Adventureland, you might see this SUPER long line of people standing in front of this little cart.

I was like, “All this wait for some egg rolls?” But apparently, it’s not just some egg rolls. These are Disney’s famous Cheeseburger Egg Rolls!

All of my friends love to make a pit stop here and sit/watch the parade in front of the castle while they munch away on these warm, cheesy rolls. This recipe is a fun, creative spin on the classic ground beef cheeseburger wrapped up in a crispy, golden egg roll wrapper.

Now, obviously, the one in the parks is not allergy-friendly. So in order for me to try this amazing, spectacular egg roll, I had to recreate it myself… and dang. It’s GOOD!

Don’t believe me? Prove me wrong and make a batch!

Where can I find gluten-free egg roll wrappers?

I personally have not been able to find a gluten free version of egg roll or wonton wrappers in the grocery store yet. So, I usually make my own batch!

My favorite recipe to date is from Gluten Free On A Shoestring. I found the recipe to be super simple and was able to make a big enough batch to have enough to freeze for another time.

Mom’s Place has a gluten free, premade mix where all you have to add is water and an egg. It is also dairy-free and soy-free. I have not tried this yet but once I do, I will update this post!

Tips for Making the Perfect Cheeseburger Egg Roll

  • Brown the meat: Cook that ground beef thoroughly before adding anything else—no one wants undercooked meat!
  • Drain the grease: Once the beef is cooked, drain off the excess grease. Trust me, this step keeps your egg rolls from turning out too greasy.
  • Let it cool down: Don’t skip this step! Let the filling cool off before wrapping it up. Hot filling can tear those delicate wrappers.
  • Go easy on the filling: Don’t overstuff your egg rolls—too much filling can cause the wrappers to rip or burst while frying.
  • Seal it up: Use a bit of water or egg wash on the edges of the wrappers to make sure they stay sealed tight when frying.

Magic Tip: Serve your cheeseburger egg rolls with a homemade pineapple dole whip. Try my super easy recipe!

  • 10 tbsp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • ½ medium yellow onion peeled and diced
  • 2 cups vegetable oil plus 1 tbsp

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon of oil for about 30 seconds, then add onion and garlic. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is no longer pink, for about 5 minutes.

  • Mix mustard and ketchup into the beef mixture and allow it to cool slightly for about 10 minutes. Set aside.
  • In a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat, add the remaining 2 cups of vegetable oil. It should measure to a depth of about 1″. Heat until the oil reaches 350°F.
  • Line a large plate with paper towels and set it aside.
  • Lay 1 egg roll wrapper with a point facing toward you, like a diamond shape.
  • Spoon 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture onto the middle of the wrapper.
  • Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of cheese onto the meat.
  • Brush the egg onto the opposite two sides of the wrapper.
  • Roll up like a burrito, making sure all filling is sealed inside.
  • Repeat with remaining wraps and fillings.
  • Place 4 rolls in hot oil and cook 2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  • Remove to the lined plate. Repeat with the remaining rolls.
  • Serve and enjoy!
