Located in Liberty Square, this colonial-themed eatery is known for its family-style Thanksgiving dinner. But how does it hold up for allergy-friendly dining?

Liberty Tree Tavern Dining Atmosphere and Theming

From the moment you step inside Liberty Tree Tavern, it feels like you’ve been whisked back to revolutionary America.

Think warm wood accents, colonial-style decor, and six themed rooms paying homage to historical figures like Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross. It’s cozy, inviting, and captures the essence of an old New England inn!

One standout detail I noticed is the attention to storytelling in each room—every corner of the tavern seems to have a unique nod to early American history.

For Disney fans wondering, What is Liberty Tree Tavern based on?—it’s inspired by the colonial era and the spirit of American independence.

If you’re dining during a parade, you might ask, Can you see the parade from Liberty Tree Tavern? Unfortunately, parade views from the restaurant are blocked, but step outside onto Liberty Square, and you’ll find fantastic vantage points nearby.

Dining at Liberty Tree Tavern is a flat-rate experience.

For adults, the cost is $44 per person, while children (ages 3–9) dine for $24—making this a relatively reasonable Disney dining option, especially considering it’s all-you-can-eat!

The Liberty Tree Tavern Menu (+ Allergy Friendly Menu)

Curious about what’s on the Liberty Tree Tavern menu, especially if you’ve got food allergies? Good news—the menu includes options for common allergies like gluten, dairy, soy, and nuts.

Just be sure to let your server know about any allergies when you book your reservation and again when you arrive, so they can take extra care while preparing your meal.

Appetizers

The meal kicks off with a treat—delicious, allergy-friendly warm herb butter rolls. These gluten-free rolls are soft, perfectly warm, and topped with heavenly butter. Seely couldn’t stop talking about how good they were.

Paired with the cold butter – LITERAL perfection!

Next, the Declaration Salad makes its entrance with fresh mixed greens, sweet cranberries, chopped apples, and a tangy house-made dressing. It’s simple, refreshing, and easily customized to be allergy-safe.

Main Course

The star of the show at Liberty Tree Tavern is the colonial-inspired Patriot’s Platter, served family-style. Because some of us had different allergies, they served each of us a plate to limit cross contact. But my mom and friend Jessica don’t have allergies, so they shared everything family style!

Here’s a breakdown for allergy diners:

  • Roasted Turkey and Oven-Roasted Pork: Juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned—just what you’d hope for.
  • Pot Roast: Pure comfort food. The rich gravy takes it to the next level, and allergy-friendly gravy is available if needed.
  • Mashed Potatoes: Creamy and dreamy, with an option to make them dairy-free.
  • House-made Gravy: Full of flavor, with allergy adjustments available.
  • Herbed Rice Bread Stuffing (Gluten-free): A surprising favorite! Even the gluten-eaters at the table loved it.
  • Green Beans: Crisp and fresh, balancing out the hearty mains.
  • Cranberry Sauce: Sweet, tangy, and a Thanksgiving classic you don’t want to miss.
  • Allergy-Friendly Macaroni and Cheese: Creamy, cheesy, and a total crowd-pleaser for kids and adults.

Liberty Tree Tavern is great at accommodating diners with multiple allergies. The chef is happy to make substitutions to ensure your meal is safe and delicious!

Dessert

Save room for dessert, because Liberty Tree Tavern really delivers on allergy-friendly options.

Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream: This apple cake was GF and vegan, topped with vegan caramel syrup and ice cream (or whipped topping).

Allergy-Friendly Cookies: The chef brought out the snack size bag of Home Free chocolate chip cookies. Perfect for a grab-and-go treat! They’re small and crunchy. Perfect to eat with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They are also free of top 14 allergens!

My Favorites

With food allergies, you don’t always know what to expect when dining out. But at Liberty Tree Tavern, almost everything was a hit! My personal favorites were the:

  • Oven-roasted turkey
  • Mashed potatoes and gravy
  • Gluten-free macaroni and cheese

—I couldn’t get enough!

My Least Favorites

There were a few dishes that didn’t quite hit the spot for me. They were good but not my top picks:

  • Pork tenderloin: It just didn’t look appetizing so I didn’t even try it.
  • Cranberry sauce: I’ve never been a cranberry sauce kind of girl, it’s too sweet for me but it was a favorite for a lot of others!

Okay, I normally keep things positive 99% of the time but I finally found something I REALLY don’t like… and it’s this Johnny Appleseed Cake. It’s probably one of the worst tasting things I’ve ever had at Disney! I always love everything I have, but this was just too much.

It turned out to be the sauce that went over the cake. It was as if the alcohol or sugar alcohols weren’t cooked out or something. Even the chef said it didn’t taste good and he was going to find out why. The cake was also dense, dry and crumbly.

Now, it might’ve just been bad luck and hopefully I can build up enough courage to give it a try again.

But for now, it’s a hard no.

How Does Liberty Tree Tavern Compare to the Diamond Horseshoe?

A question Disney diners often ask is, What’s the deal with Liberty Tree Tavern vs. the Diamond Horseshoe? The menus are pretty similar, but Diamond Horseshoe has a slightly less immersive colonial vibe. But, at the end of the day, it’s pretty much the same menu.

Where is the Hidden Mickey in Liberty Tree Tavern?

If you’re a fan of Hidden Mickeys, make sure to check out the area below the oil painting of George Washington in the Benjamin Franklin-themed room. There’s a sneaky Hidden Mickey hanging out in plain sight, adding a fun little twist to this historical setting.

Is Liberty Tree Tavern Worth It?

If Thanksgiving-style meals are your thing, Liberty Tree Tavern is a must-try. For those with food allergies, the care and attention here make it one of the best dining options in Magic Kingdom. From the friendly service to the tasty, allergy-friendly menu, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you’re after a hearty feast or just want a unique dining experience with a side of American history, Liberty Tree Tavern is a true Magic Kingdom gem. Just make sure to book your reservation early—this place is super popular and fills up fast!
