When it comes to theme parks, sometimes you’ll find that not all of the food items available are normally great for those with food allergies and dietary restrictions. That makes it really hard to have a safe and enjoyable experience!

Thankfully, Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts recognize that guests may have special dietary needs, so they offer lots of different options and allergy menus at many of their food locations.

But even then, it can still be difficult to find something that meets all of your dietary needs, and it can also be EXPENSIVE.

So, you might be wondering… Can I bring food into Disney World?

The quick answer is yes. You can bring outside food into Disney Parks, such as Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

But there are rules you’ll need to follow!

All coolers and bags are subject to inspection by a security cast member at the theme park gates.

According to Disney’s policy, you will not be allowed to bring any glass containers, alcohol, or a large cooler (the kind that is hard-sided) into Disney Parks.

That’s why I always recommend packing a small lunch bag full of reusable ice packs (no loose ice) with snacks that you know you will be able to eat and enjoy!

This way, if you can’t find something that fits your allergies or budget, you’ll always have a backup plan.

You also can’t bring in any food that is considered “loose meat.” This means no loose hamburger patties or unpackaged hot dogs.

If you want to bring these items into the park, you’ll have to purchase them from a quick-service restaurant like Casey’s Corner or Rosie’s All-American Cafe.

What can I bring to eat at Disney World?

You can bring your own food in, like snack foods, granola bars, baby food, sandwiches, fruit, and pretty much anything else you would normally eat at home or on vacation.

I always like to bring extra snacks with me, just in case I get hungry between meals. Also, I want to save money if my budget is tight!

My go-to snacks are:

Bring your own water bottles

To stay hydrated on your Disney vacation, pack sure to throw in a few packets of Liquid I.V. Hydration!

Another great hack to stay hydrated and save money is bringing the whole family reusable water bottles and using the water refill stations located across the Disney theme parks.

Tip: Ask for a cup of ice at the snack cart, and you can fill up your water bottle for free!

What about bringing baby food or formula to Disney World?

Yup, you can bring your own baby food and formula to the parks. However, glass containers are not allowed.

Tip: If you run out of diapers or wipes while at Disney World, don’t worry! You can purchase them at any Baby Care Center located in each theme park. These centers also have private nursing rooms for mothers who need to nurse their little ones.

Can I bring my own cooler into Disney World?

You technically can bring a cooler with your own food and drinks into the parks; however, it must be a soft-sided cooler, not a hard one.

Also, you will have to carry it around all day and go through the security check line each time you enter a new park or return from leaving your Disney Resort.

So unless you have a medical need for something, I recommend sticking with small snack bags that can easily fit into your backpack or purse.

Is there anywhere to store my food in Disney World?

Yes! Most of the Disney Resorts offer mini-fridges in their rooms, so you can always store any perishable items there.

You can also ask for a complimentary cup of ice at most quick-service restaurants and use it to keep your drinks cold throughout the day.

Another option is using the lockers located near the entrance of each park. These are available for rent, but they do get filled up quickly.
