Do you love Disney’s fried pickles? If so, you’re going to love this copycat recipe! These fried pickles are made with gluten-free panko breadcrumbs, eggs, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. They’re crispy, flavorful, and perfect for dipping in the homemade ranch dip. Don’t skip out on this delicious appetizer!
Fried pickles are a go-to for many who visit Disney. However, I have NOT been able to find some that are allergy-friendly!
So, I set out to come up with my own fried pickles recipe that I could enjoy right here at home. And, let me tell you, these are the best-fried pickles you’ll ever make!
Note: For a list of ingredients and instructions, scroll down to the bottom of this post and save the recipe card!
This recipe is perfect for those who are:
- Peanut & Tree nut-free
Note: I do offer tips on how to make this dairy-free. However, I have not figured out how to make this egg-free yet but will update this when I do!
✨ Cooking Tips
- Instead of pickle spears, swap them out for dill pickle slices.
- Before coating in flour, make sure to pay dry each pickle.
- Make sure the cooking oil has reached the correct temperature before cooking the pickles. This will help make sure that the pickles are crispy, not soggy!
- Don’t overcrowd the pit so that the pickles are perfectly crunchy and cooked.
- Use a slotted spoon to scoop out the fried pickles from the hot oil before laying them out on a paper towel-lined plate.
- To make the ranch dip a bit spicy, add 1/2 tbsp of sriracha or hot sauce.
✨ How To Make Air Fryer Pickles
If you don’t want to deep fry them, cook them in the air fryer instead!
Follow all of the instructions until it’s time to cook them. Make sure to spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and lay out the pickles in a single layer.
Set the air fryer to 400 degrees and cook for about 8-10 minutes. Then flip them over and cook for about another 5 minutes.
Keep an eye on it until they are perfectly air-fried!
✨ Dipping Sauce Ideas
Whenever I make these deep-fried pickles, I love to make my favorite dipping sauce…ranch!
If ranch dressing isn’t your thing, here are a few other dipping sauce ideas:
- French Remoulade
- Chipotle Aioli
- Green Goddess Dressing
Here are a few questions I get whenever I share this fried pickle recipe. If you have any more questions, please leave them for me in the comments below or DM me on Instagram!
Can I use a different type of breadcrumbs?
Yes! You can use any type of breadcrumbs that you like. I just used these GF panko crumbs to keep this recipe gluten-free!
How do I make this recipe dairy-free?
If Parmesan cheese isn’t your thing, simply leave it out. If you have a dairy-free allergy, consider swapping it out for a dairy-free parmesan option or just completely leave it out.
Serve it with a dairy-free ranch dressing. My favorite is from Kite Hill or Tessamae’s!
Can I use a different type of oil?
You can use any type of cooking oil that you like. I just used vegetable oil because it has a high smoke point and is perfect for frying things.
