StoryBook Dining Atmosphere and Theming
As soon as you step foot into Storybook Dining, you will be transported to a fairy tale world filled with whimsical details and enchanting decor.
It’s like walking right into the Enchanted Forest! There are large faux trees with many string lights, hanging lanterns, and even a small corner portraying the Queen’s evil lair.
But don’t worry, there’s nothing too scary here – just the perfect mix of magic and fantasy.
The theming is truly top-notch and makes for a fantastic dining experience.
Pricing
Now, let’s talk about the price point.
Storybook Dining is considered a Signature dining experience, which means it falls within the higher price range among Disney restaurants.
But trust me, it’s worth every penny! The food, atmosphere, and entertainment all make for an unforgettable evening.
As of November 2023, the adult prix fixe menu is $65, while the kids’ menu (for children ages 3-9) is $39.
Note: Keep in mind that this pricing may change, so be sure to check the official Disney World website for the most up-to-date pricing information.
The Menu
Now let’s get to the most important part – the food! And let me tell you, Storybook Dining does not disappoint when it comes to its allergy-friendly menu.
From appetizers to entrees and desserts, there are plenty of options for those with food allergies.
As soon as I sat, I was handed an allergy menu and was pleasantly surprised to see the variety of options available.
As of right now, there are offering options for:
- Gluten/Wheat allergy
- Dairy allergy
- Egg allergy
- Fish/Shellfish allergy
- Peanut/Tree Nut allergy
- Soy allergy
- Sesame allergy
I spoke to my server to let her know of my gluten allergy, and thankfully, she was very aware of all the options, and she never made me feel left out!
Appetizers
For the appetizers, they actually brought out all three options for the whole table to share. She made sure to tell me that all of the options on the table were gluten-free.
We were served:
- Wild Mushroom Bisque
- Hunter’s Pie Meatballs
- Wicked Shrimp Cocktail
My favorite thing I had was, hands down, the Wild Mushroom Bisque. It’s a 10/10. And not just me! My whole table of friends agreed, and we all ordered seconds, LOL!
Note: I did ask to verify because I was a bit concerned when I noticed the Hunter’s Pie was NOT marked gluten-free on the menu, but when it arrived at the table, it had the allergy stick, and the server reassured me it was. She then told me that the dish had been updated (as well as some others), but the paper menu I had been given had not been. So I just wanted to share that!
Main Course
For the main course, we had a couple of options for everyone. I was pleased to see that most of the dishes could be made gluten-free.
I went with Bashful’s Sustainable Fish (because why not go big or go home when Disney dining is involved!)
It included:
- Crispy pan-roasted salmon
- Herbed risotto
- Roasted red peppers
I asked the server to verify that the risotto was actually gluten-free since arborio rice (the rice used to make risotto) is not always gluten-free, but I was happy to find out it was! I had asked for mashed potatoes as a back up- just in case.
And, I also got a side order of steamed broccoli, but honestly was not necessary. I was pretty full at this point, and it was so much food! Still yummy, though.
No regrets about this dish. I’d give it a 9/10. Just wish the risotto wasn’t as thick and heavy. But the flavor was seriously delicious.
Desserts
Last but definitely not least, let’s talk about the desserts!
They had gluten-free versions of 3 of the 4 desserts on the menu:
- Miner’s Treasure: This panna cotta was more like a chia seed pudding and had a fresh pineapple topping.
- Fairy Tale Gooseberry Pie: They made a mini version of this in a small teacup. It had gooseberry filling with a crumble over the top and fresh raspberries.
- ‘Poison’ Apple: It was really just a chocolate fudge truffle with a sugar leaf over the top to make it look like an apple. Mine didn’t have a filing in the middle.
I’m not a big dessert person, but I was in a Disney Park at the Storybook Dining after all. So, of course, I had to try them all!
They were all pretty good. But I prefer more simple desserts. I did love their look and how they stayed on them!
StoryBook Character Meet and Greets
While dining at Storybook Dining, you get to meet some of the most beloved characters from Snow White!
Snow White herself makes her way around each table for photos and autographs. But that’s not all – Grumpy and Dopey also make appearances!
And the best part? They are all dressed in their adorable storybook-inspired outfits, which makes for some fantastic photo opportunities.
Towards the end of our meal, our server gave us a special card to let us know the Evil Queen was waiting for us and we could go meet her. And she was hands down the absolute best. She was perfectly in character, which made it even more funny.
Doesn’t she look spectacular?!?
So, is StoryBook Dining worth it?
Overall, I had an amazing experience at Storybook Dining at Artist Point. The theming, food, and character meet-and-greets were all top-notch.
And for those with food allergies, it’s a fantastic option that still offers a wide variety of delicious dishes.
While the price point may be on the higher side, in my opinion, it is definitely worth it for the overall experience and quality of the food. Plus, where else can you dine with Snow White and her friends in such an enchanting setting?
I would highly recommend adding Storybook Dining to your Disney World itinerary for a magical and memorable dining experience. Trust me, it’s truly one for the books!
