Churro Bars

Looking for a snack to make you feel like you're walking down Main Street, U.S.A. rather than sitting on your couch? Try this Churro Bars recipe! Inspired by Disney's churros, these are easy to make and taste exactly like the coveted Disney treat.

Ingredients

Churro Bars

  • 1 cup unsalted sweet cream butter
  • 2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 1/2 cup gluten-free flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

Make Churro Bars:

  • In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter and bring to a boil.
  • Stir butter, or swirl pan continuously until it reaches an amber color.
  • Remove from heat and allow butter to cool for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with foil and coat with non-stick spray. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl combine butter and brown sugar and stir to combine.
  • Add eggs, vanilla, baking powder, and salt and stir until smooth.
  • Finally, add in flour and mix until just incorporated. Set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together.
  • Sprinkle half of cinnamon sugar evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  • Press dough on top of cinnamon sugar.
  • Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar on top and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  • Place the pan on a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, use the foil to remove bars from the pan and cut into pieces.
